Symptoms

After entering a Euro character in a record item, then saving (commit), the Euro character does not remain. It becomes an upside-down question mark upon re-querying.

The database, however, is in a character set that includes the Euro symbol: ( UTF8, WE8MSWIN1252, WE8ISO8859P15 etc..) as checked with:

select * from nls_database_parameters
../..
NLS_CHARACTERSET UTF8
.../..
