Symptoms

When using the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) tool OdiOutFile with the UnicodeLittle character set, it creates an empty (zero-byte) file if the "text" parameter is not specified.

Example command:

The issue is reproduced in ODI 11.1.1.9 and later. In versions ODI 11.1.1.7 and earlier, the OdiOutFile tool creates a 1 byte text file which only contains the byte order mark (BOM).
