Query By Example: Application Is Stuck With Filter Exception

Symptoms
Query by example does not recover from an error that is made in a query entry. On the first iteration of the error, a generic alert box appears labelled "Error" showing the syntax error entered.
It continues to show the same message in the alert box even when the error the error is corrected.
It is necessary to reload the page in order to overcome the issue.
