Unable To Connect To An External System Through Oracle API Gateway

Symptoms
The particular use case is a client using Oracle API Gateway as a security mechanism for a client connection to an Azure service that performs file transfers.
These file transfers are failing and the following error is seen in the logs:
"Extranet Azure File Upload has failed:
JavaException: com.microsoft.azure.storage.StorageException: Server failed to authenticate the request.
Make sure the value of Authorization header is formed correctly including the signature."
