Oracle BPM Parametric Role Based Task Assignment:Task Assigned To All Members When Condition Not Met or Auto Completed (Doc ID 2976531.1)

Last updated on MAY 13, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Business Process Management Suite - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

While selecting participants using parametric roles (Group Based), if the parameter value doesn't match any particpants then the task is getting assigned to all participants in the group.
Ideally it should go to error assignees if none of the participants filtered from the Group.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. In the BPM Workspace, Create a parametric role, for example ParametricGroupA, based on a user group (GroupA) with a condition based on a string parameter which is compared against an user standard attribute, for example Pager.
2. In the Human Task of a BPM Process, Build a list of Participants using "Organization Role" as "ParametricGroupA" with string parameter value by expression
3. Try executing the BPM process by mentioning the string parameter value does not matches for any user in GroupA
4. Notice that the task is assigned to all users in GroupA
