This document is meant to assist with the troubleshooting of "sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security. provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" (and its different variations, for example: "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: com.ibm.jsse2.util.j: PKIX path building failed: com.ibm.security.cert.IBMCertPathBuilderException").
