OIC Intermittently Fails Two-Way SSL Connections with Error "CASDK-0041: An error occurred while invoking the REST endpoint.[[CASDK-0039: Fault Details : http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html#sec10.5.1Internal Server" (Doc ID 2977384.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Integration-OIC integration with SOA gateway via REST API and two way SSL. OIC is a client making SSL connections to the endpoint.

Everything was working fine until OIC was updated with a new FMW Bundle Patch. After the servers were patched, the flow using mutual TLS (mTLS) connections started to fail.

No changes were made in OIC nor to SSL in the JDK.


Intermittently seeing Integrations failing by not sending the certificate. Below is the high level error:
