ORA-01017 in Password Change Dialogue when Old Password Contains a Space
(Doc ID 2979246.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 08, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Forms - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and laterOracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
With password reset dialogue in Forms, the user might by mistake add a trailing space in the old password.
After upgrade from 12.2.1.2 to 12.2.1.4, the trailing space from the clipboard causes "Invalid Password" error - and this is expected.
The expected behaviour is that Forms application will automatically trim trailing spaces, as it used to do in 12.2.1.2
Also, this is not happening for the new password inserted by the user. Here Forms is trimming trailing spaces
Changes
Upgrade from 12.2.1.2 to 12.2.1.4
