OUD12.2.1.4 - Poor Performance and Degradation after Turning on Virtual Attributes with Groups (Doc ID 2982450.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version 12.2.1.4.230406 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After configuring Virtual attributes and Privilege Virtual attributes in the OUD 12.2.1.4 environment, a huge performance degradation is observed.
The more virtual attributes are defined in the environment, the more degradation is observed. Further, if the query returns many entries, then penalty increases for each entry returned. To conclude, the duration of search increases proportionally to the number of virtual attributes enabled and to the number of entries to be returned as a search result. Moreover, if there are use-cases with many queries returning hundreds or sometimes even thousands of results, this completely blocks/hangs the OUD and the system.

Changes

Configured Virtual Attributes and Privilege Virtual Attributes
