Symptoms

In 10G, when one uses userid= to ensure dbauth popup windows, an error message
displayed on the window if the full host string is not provided on the URL:
             

REP-51018: Need database user authentication


 The new 9i/10G implementational change due to potential non-connection report runs is not downward compatible and not user-friendly within this context.
