Active-passive Distribution Algorithm doesn't Work in Two Node Cluster (Doc ID 2985882.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 12.2.1.4.0 to 12.2.1.4.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

 https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/fusion-middleware/coherence/12.2.1.4/develop-applications/working-partitions.html#GUID-07A39D29-83E4-4955-87A5-978E72CB7B02

Note:

An active-passive distribution algorithm is automatically used in a two-node cluster (two storage-enabled members).
That is, the first cluster member is assigned all partitions and the second member is responsible for partition backup.

Coherence 12.2.1.4 seems not to work as "An active-passive distribution algorithm" in a two-node cluster. It seems to distribute half number of partitions each node as usual behavior of previous versions.
