Post Upgrade from ODI 11g to ODI 12c, Columns Are Missing from GROUP BY Component (Doc ID 2994356.1)

Symptoms

Interfaces that use database aggregate functions such as MAX, MIN, SUM, and which require a GROUP BY clause to be used in the SELECT command, generate correct SQL code, and have the expected columns in the GROUP BY clause in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g.

However, after upgrading to ODI 12c, the resulting SQL code no longer has all the expected columns in the GROUP BY.

For example, the following GROUP BY is generated in ODI 11g, and is correct:
