Unable to Login to WebCenter Portal with Users from the Embedded LDAP After Applying the WebCenter Portal October 2023 Bundle Patch or Later: "Unexpected error occured during login" (Doc ID 3000633.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Unable to login to WebCenter Portal (WCP) with users from the embedded LDAP after applying the WebCenter Portal Bundle Patch 12.2.1.4.230905 or later.

Issue happens when there are users in multiple Identity stores like the embedded LDAP and an external LDAP such as Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) or Active Directory (AD).


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect being able to login to WebCenter Portal with users from the embedded LDAP.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Apply any of the following patches:
     
    WebCenter Portal Bundle Patch 12.2.1.4.230905 or later

    or

    WC Stack Patch Bundle 12.2.1.4.231013 or later
     
  2. Restart the domain. 

  3. Attempt to login with a user from the embedded LDAP.
    The following error occurs:

    Unexpected error occurred during login
