User Images are Lost in the Activity Stream and Connections in WebCenter Portal After Migrating from OVD to OUD (Doc ID 3007227.1)

Symptoms

User images in People Activity Stream and Connections are not showing in WebCenter Portal after migrating from Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) to Oracle Unified Directory (OUD).
Hovering over a user in the Activity Stream shows the following error:

ERROR

User <USER_GUID> not available in the configured identity store. The user may have been removed from the system. 


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Migrate the external LDAP from OVD to OUD with AD servers in the back.
     
  2. Change the Weblogic security adaptor from orclguid to entryUUID and then to objectGuid.
