Goal

The goal of this document is to detail information regarding problems found with Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) Bundle Patches (BP) from April, July, and October 2023 and how to remedy.

Details

OHS BPs delivered with Critical Patch Update (CPU) releases April, July, and October 2023 were found not to be cumulative with respect to the OHS template files and upgrade scripts delivered. Specific files missing are:

<PATCH>/files/oracle.ohs2/12.2.1.4.0/oracle.ohs2.symbol/templates/conf/httpd.conf

The patches missing files are as follows.

Patch 35200036: OHS (NATIVE) BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.4.230320 (April 2023)
Patch 35265780: OHS (NATIVE) DB19C BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.4.230406 (April 2023)
Patch 35577558: OHS (NATIVE) BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.4.230707 (July 2023)
Patch 35577594: OHS (NATIVE) DB19C BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.4.230707 (July 2023)
Patch 35837445: OHS (NATIVE) BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.4.230922 (Oct 2023)

The concern was raised with development in bug number 36139663 where it was reviewed. The impact was deemed to be very limited so the regression process was not followed to notify customers. The files are corrected in January 2024 BPs.
