Unable to Login to WebCenter Portal After Applying the WebCenter Portal October 2023 Bundle Patch or Later And Setting the Virtualize Flag (Doc ID 3020351.1)

Symptoms


ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Unable to Login to WebCenter Portal with users from your external LDAP after Applying the October 2023 Bundle Patch or Later.
Login with users from the embedded LDAP such as weblogic user works.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect being able to login to WebCenter Portal with users fromyour external LDAP.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Apply any of the following patches or later to an instance configured with an external LDAP:

    Patch 35783344 : WebCenter Portal Bundle Patch 12.2.1.4.12.2.1.4.230905 or Later
    or
    Patch 35908126 : WC Stack Patch Bundle 12.2.1.4.231013 or Later


  2. Implement the post install steps for the WebCenter Portal Bundle Patch 12.2.1.4.230905 or Later as indicated in the following note:

  3. Restart the domain.
     
  4. Test Login to Portal.

    • Attempt to login with a user from Active Directory.
      Here you won't be able to login.


    • Attempt to login with a user from the embedded LDAP such as weblogic.
      You will see this works.
