Last updated on NOVEMBER 28, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Platform Security for Java - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Version 13.1.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

12c Java Platform Security (OPSS) / Library Oracle Virtual Directory (libovd) with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM / EM) integrated.

Configured a second EM environment by copying some LDAP configurations from another EM environment, which is not documented/supported.

Rolled back the changes but since then no longer able to start WebLogic Server (WLS) or OEM Oracle Management Server (OMS).

As the WLS Admin Server log error indicates possible corruption in the adapter.os_xml file, tried to restore the original adapters.os_xml, and other libovd files such as servers.os_xml, but it did not help. Also tried copying the adapters.os_xml file from the template location but it did not help either.

There is no available backup of the filesystem, so cannot revert back to when this was working properly.

WLS Admin Server .out file shows:

Changes

Manually copied ldap configuration from another server, then tried to reverse the changes.
