REP-1401 and ORA-39565 Using Barcode Bean in UNIX (Doc ID 307897.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 9.0.4.1 to 10.1.2.3 [Release 10g to 10gr2]
Generic Linux
Generic UNIX

Symptoms

Using oraclebarcode.jar from the Oracle Technetwork sample code:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/reports/barcodebeanweb-130169.zip -> It is a zip file. Other option is clicking in the following link "Building a Paper Report with a Barcode JavaBean" .

This sample runs correctly in a Windows environment, but you receive the following errors when running it on Unix/Linux:

The errors are not reproducible if you do not include the barcode. The issue is reproducible using rwclient.sh or from the url.

REPORTS_CLASSPATH has been set correctly for Reports Builder; classPath class has been tested in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/<repserver>.conf for Reports Server.

Using DISPLAY is mandatory for running this barcode java bean instead of  REPORTS_DEFAULT_DISPLAY. It was already setup in $ORACLE_HOME/reports.sh, but does not help either.

Changes

Moving the report with the barcode java bean from MS Windows to Unix/Linux.
