Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.1.2.3.0
- Error reported is not limited to Oracle Application Server.
- Similar errors has been reported in RDBMS and Grid Control installations.
Symptoms
Following are possible errors returned from opmnctl commands:
main: NLS initialization failed!!
pingwait exits with 1228584
opmnctl: opmn start failed
Changes
Unix/Linux platforms:
- libociei.so file is present in one or more of the directories specified in LIB PATH environment variable (e.g. $LD_LIBRARY_PATH this variable depends on the platform)
Windows Platforms:
- oraociei*.dll (such as oraociei10.dll) is present in one or more of the directories specified in PATH environment variable.
For ease of reference, the rest of this note will refer to libociei.so/oraociei*.dll as OCI file.
