Symptoms

Attempting to install the 10.1.2.0.0 Portal & Wireless midtier client and the Portal Configuration Assistance fails.

The InstallActionsXXX.log shows the following error:

Portal Configuration Assistant failed. Refer to /midtier_home/assistants/opca/install.log for details.

The /midtier_home/assistants/opca/install.log shows the following errors: 

SSO registration tool finished successfully.

SP2-0640: Not connected

STEP 2 : Loading Web cache configuration information in the Portal repository
