Reports Engines Start very Slowly which Increases the Startup Time for Report Server (Doc ID 333610.1)

Symptoms

While trying to start the Report Server, it is observed that the engines start very slowly. If "callbackTimeOut" for rwEng is not increased in conf file of report server, usually the report server trace (rwserver.trc) contains the following error:

Exception 56097 (): Engine rwEng-0 callback timeout

and the report server fails to startup.

When callbackTimeOut parameter is increased, the report server starts up, but it takes too long to initialize and startup totally. In one particular case, each engine took 90 seconds to startup, while in another case it was observed that it took 6 minutes.
