Symptoms

Stopping the instance's components fails with the following error:

$opmnctl stopall

opmnctl: stopping opmn and all managed processes...
================================================================================
opmn id=host:port
3 of 4 processes stopped.
ias-instance id=myinstance.host

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ias-component/process-type/process-set:
OC4J/myOC4J/default_island
Error --> Process (pid=<pid>)
time out while waiting for a managed process to stop
Log: <dir>/opmn/logs/OC4J~myOC4J~default_island~1
opmnctl: graceful stop of processes failed, trying forceful shutdown...

One of the OC4J instances failed to respond on a timely manner to the stop command and Oracle Process monitoring and Notification services (OPMN) issued a shutdown force command to terminate the instance.
