Forms 10g RUN_REPORT_OBJECT Fails With FRM-92101 / FRM-93000 on Red Hat Linux (Doc ID 342291.1)

Symptoms

Running a report via OracleAS 10g Forms Services using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT fails with:

FRM-92101 : There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup. This could happen due to
invalid configuration.
Please look into the web-server log file for details.
Details...
Java Exception:
oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Forms session <2> aborted: unable to communicate with
runtime process.
at oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException.createConnectionException(Unknown Source)

In the OC4J_BI_Forms application.log the following error stack is seen:

05/11/16 10:51:24 forms90web: Forms session <36> exception stack trace:
java.io.IOException: FRM-93000: Unexpected internal error.

The error reproduces even when running a simple report like the default test.rdf

Running the report outside of Forms via rwservlet works fine

The same RUN_REPORT_OBJECT code works fine when run on other platforms like MS Windows, Solaris, HP-UX etc.
