Internet Explorer File Downloads Over SSL When Running Reports Don't Work With The Cache Control Headers (Doc ID 344763.1)

Symptoms

When a report with parameter form run in a HTTPS URL  from another form or menu by "Run_Report_Object"  and "Web.Show_Document" procedures, the report cannot be displayed for the user directly. Internet Explorer gives an error.
The problem is that you cannot run reports:

  1. with parameter form on the Web using HTTPS URL.
    OR
  2. by "Run_Report_Object"  and "Web.Show_Document" procedures when using HTTPS URL

        e.g
        https://machine.domain:8890/reports/rwservlet/getjobid118?server=repserver


When you attempt to open or download a Microsoft Office document or a PDF file from a secure Web site in Internet Explorer by HTTPS URL , you may receive one of the following error messages:

Error message 1

Internet Explorer cannot download file from server.
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

Error message 2

The page cannot be displayed.
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
Cannot find server or DNS Error

Error message 3

Office Application Name cannot open the file.

Error message 4

Publisher cannot find the file you specified.
