Purpose

During installation the DBRunning function connects to the Metadata Repository to verify that the database is started and accepts connections.
If DBRunning fails during installation this commandline utility can be used to aid in troubleshooting.

This tool cannot be launched from Oracle9iAS Release 2 iAS 9.0.2 or 9.0.3
-You will receive following error
 java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: "host:port:sid"
