How to Recover Scheduled Reports when Needing to Refresh repserv.DAT File Due to Corruption (Doc ID 357051.1)

Symptoms


When you encounter a bad or corrupted persistent file, you must remove or rename the <reports_server>.dat file located in the $ORACLE_HOME/reports/server directory and restart the Reports Server to recover. 

However, this loses all the information for scheduled jobs, in addition to past jobs.

Is there a way to recover the scheduled jobs?

To resolve the following error due to corrupt .dat file:

REP-51002  cannot bind to reports server.

the <reports_server>.dat file is removed, and Reports Server is restarted.
