External Auth Plugin Not Working When Database On Different System (Doc ID 358341.1)

Symptoms

Environment:

Backend Database (RAC or Standalone system)

Multiple OID mid-tiers

External LDAP server synchronized with OID

External Authentication Plugin Configured and Enabled

Problem

Unable to ldapbind to OID using the local users credentials... cn=<USERNAME>,cn=users,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com

However, CAN ldapbind to the 3rd party ldap server using the users credentials.

Error

Sometimes it returns "operations error", other times it just hangs

Turning on plugin debugging as documented, shows the plugin returns Error 1024
