OID Hangs Temporarily In Distributed Architecture: ORA-12152 In oidldapd Log (Doc ID 359065.1)

Symptoms

10gAS Identity Management (IM) only has been installed into an existing database on a different server.
There is a firewall between the IM and database servers.

Once a day the oidldapd process stops responding. OID seems to restart the process and functionality is restored after about 20 minutes.

Errors in the <IM-home>/ldap/log/oidldapd01s<PID>.log:

2006/02/07:17:46:24 * ServerController :0 * INFO : ServerController : Initilization of Database Conn pool and Server group cache successful
2006/02/08:12:38:42 * ServerController :0 * [gsldfd_FetchSubTreeObjs] ORA error 12152: ORA-12152: TNS:unable to send break message
2006/02/08:12:38:42 * ServerController :0 * Error in gsldfd_FetchSubTreeObjs:5
2006/02/08:12:38:42 * ServerController :0 * gslsfguUpdateorclprivilegeGroupCache:Search for all the groups failed 5
2006/02/08:12:38:42 * ServerController :0 * FATAL : ServerController : LDAP 5 : orclprivilege group cache refresh failed
