Intermittent ''500 Internal Server Error'' When Navigating Through Groups or Creating User In OIDDAS (Doc ID 359121.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 31, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On - Version 9.0.4 to [Release 10gR1 to 10gR2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

The AS10G Infrastructure is setup to use Windows Native Authentication (WNA).

Using the WNA fallback mechanism, the user experiences different errors from different browsers.

For instance, when using Internet Explorer and disable WNA to get the fallback login,  the user would get "500 Internal Error" when trying to create a user.

However, when using another browser e.g. Firefox, the user would experience "500 Internal Error" when navigating through OIDDAS page, e.g. When clicking on Cancel Button, or browsing to groups, or Creating a user.

The problem is intermittent.

The Infrastrcture is setup to for WNA using a Virtual Host for Single Sign-on (SSO) server.

WNA is setup with SSO using Virtual Host of the Reverse Proxy and SSL mode . Every thing was working fine when using Physical host with WNA.

The problem of 500 Internal Error from OIDDAS started after setting WNA to use SSO Virtual Host.

After setting up SSO to use Virtual Host and SSL, now the problem of getting 500 Internal error happens intermittently from Internet Explorer (ie) browser or from Firefox.
