How to reset "oc4jadmin" password for standalone OC4J version 10.1.3 (Doc ID 360130.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Containers for J2EE - Version 10.1.3.0.0 to 10.1.3.5.0 [Release AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This note illustrates how to reset the "oc4jadmin" if you have previously installed the Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) 10.1.3 standalone installation type (expanded from oc4j_extended_1013xx.zip) and initialized it but have subsequently forgotten the initial password you provided.

These steps can also be used for the OPMN managed OC4J instances that are part of an application server installation. In this case you must modify the files for every OC4J instance that is managed by the same AS Console as the passwords must match.

If you know the current password, do not use this document but use the link provided in the note at the end for changing the password.
