BPEL Database Adapter Fails With ORA-04068

(Doc ID 364007.1)

Applies to:

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager - Version: and later   [Release: AS10gR2 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When executing a BPEL process which calls a PL/SQL procedure via a database adapter the adapter sporadically gets the error

ORA-04068 "existing state of packages%s%s%s has been discarded"

The error message does not list the name of the affected package.

After redeploying the BPEL process, the error doesn't occur any more. Executing the PL/SQL procedure manually works fine too. When checking the procedure in the database, one can see that the PL/SQL package hasn't been updated or modified within the time frame the error occurs.
