Unable To Start OID Processes on Unix - No oidldapd01.log Generated (Doc ID 372107.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.2 [Release 10gR1 to 10gR2]
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 9.0.4.0.0 to 10.1.2.0.2 [Release AS10g to AS10gR2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Internet Directory - Version: 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.2
This problem can occur on any platform.
May also be issue with 10.1.4 but this has not been confirmed.

Symptoms

The command opmnctl startall does not start the oidldapd processes.

Only the oidmon is started, the oidmon.log shows connected to database.  No mention in the log of starting oidldapd nor is there an oidldapd01.log

Taking opmnctl out of the picture and trying oidmon start along with oidctl results in same behavior...e.g.  oidmon starts but no servers are started and no logs other than oidmon.log

This has been seen predominately on HPUX environments.
