This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
Installing an Oracle Application Server 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) Infrastructure in an Oracle Linux or Linux Red Hat Server 4.0 x86 64bits, the relink phase fails for several components like ins_oracle.mk and ins_sqlplus.mk. The make.log file shows the following errors:
