This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
After installation of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 on a Unix/linux system, log in as a non-Oracle user but in same group as the Oracle user. Executing any 'java' commands fails with not finding libjava.so
To verify:
Log in as a group user, and run this command:
$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin/java -version
Following error is returned:
Error: could not find libjava.so
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
