Cannot Access as the Group on Unix / Linux After AS 10g Release 2 Installation (Doc ID 387855.1)

This problem can occur on any platform.


After installation of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 on a Unix/linux system,  log in as a non-Oracle user but in same group as the Oracle user.  Executing any 'java' commands fails with not finding
To verify:

Log in as a group user, and run this command:

$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin/java -version

Following error is returned:
Error: could not find
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
