This problem can occur on any platform.

When JAZN-LDAP is configured on an OC4J instance, the Application Server console (ASC) for that instance no longer functions properly.  Any attempts made to log into the ASC for that instance results in an error message.

The error returned is:

This OC4J is configured to make JMX connections via RMIS and fall back to RMI if the RMIS port is not configured. The RMIS connection on the OC4J instance xxxx on Application Server <HOSTNAME> is configured but a connection could not be established.  The JMX proto is specified by the oracle.oc4j.jmx.internal.connection.proto property in opmn.xml
