Symptoms

When trying to deploy a medium to large EAR file to OC4j by using Eclipse Plugin for OC4J there occur errors java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

It is a custom application containing a Java/JSP based web application developed using Eclipse WTP 1.5 and OC4J 10.1.3 but when the application is deployed/re-deployed 3-4 times, the deployment fails with a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError on the OC4J side.
