Symptoms
ODISRV was running prior to reconfiguring to use virtual host. Once virtual hosts were configured ODISRV repeatedly fails with:
Thu Oct 19 11:16:19 EDT 2006 : Starting Server to execute Profile Group:default
against LDAP Server (localhost:389)
Thu Oct 19 11:16:19 EDT 2006 : SSL Mode :0
Thu Oct 19 11:16:29 EDT 2006 : ODI Server Instance Registration Failure : java.lang.Exception: Instance Number : 1 Already Running on another host :
<virtualhostname>
Cannot start another Instance with the same number ..
Exception while validating Instance Entry..
Error Registering Server Instance ..
Thu Oct 19 11:16:29 EDT 2006 : Exiting with Status -1: null
