Custom 404 Error Page is not Shown for Incorrect Portal URLs (Doc ID 399972.1)

Symptoms

Custom 404 Error page is not respected by Portal 10.1.2.0.2, while the same was respected in 9.0.2.6 Portal.

As a result, when entering an incorrect Portal URL, i.e.
    http://<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/portal/page?_pageid=<PAGE_ID>&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTA
     (Note, the L is missing from the end of the URL)
The standard 404 error page is displayed instead if the custom error page.

When accessing an incorrect URL that is not a Portal URL, i.e.
    http://<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/p
Then the custom error page is returned.

As a result of this problem, the incorrect Portal URLs show the standard error page instead of the customized error page.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1.  Create a custom 404 error page (<FILENAME>.html) file with the following code:
