Last updated on APRIL 17, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.4.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Windows tool LDAPBINDSSL.EXE can be used to verify if the SSL setup between OID and Microsoft Active Directory is working. This is a prerequisite to successfully install the "Oracle Password Filter for Microsoft Active Directory" on a Domain Controller.  This note provides where to obtain this tool.

The AD Password Filter is needed to sync password changes from Active Directory to OID when you want to use your Active Directory user name and password to login to an Oracle database which is enabled to be used with Oracle Enterprise User Security.
