Goal

How to avoid OracleAS 10g OC4J instances opening up AJP, RMI and JMS sockets against [ALL] ip addresses?

- or to word the question differently -

How to bind sockets opened by OracleAS OC4J  to a specific IP address instead of 0.0.0.0?

For example you may see the following netstat output which corresponds to an OC4J instance ajp socket

tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:12503 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN

This document is valid for OAS 10g OC4J instances installed on the physical host address only. It does not apply to virtual host installation.
