Goal

How to resolve Active Directory/Kerberos pre-authentication information was invalid (24) error?

You receive pre-authentication errors when keytab files generated using the Ktpass.exe tool on a Windows Server 2003 SP1-based computer.

After following <Note:345025.1> SSO/WNA Quick Start Guide, in the log file ($ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/OC4J~OC4J_SECURITY~default_island~1) the following error is found:

07/02/06 15:01:10 [Krb5LoginModule] authentication failed
Pre-authentication information was invalid (24)
07/02/06 15:01:10 KerberosAuthenticator: GSSException raised in constructor -
No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Attempt to obtain new ACCEPT
credentials failed!)

... and Kinit returns the same error:

Pre-authentication information was invalid (24)
