Unable To Establish Connection To Web Cache From F5 Big IP Loadbalancer (Doc ID 422091.1)

Symptoms

Third-party hardware loadbalancer - F5 Big IP is unable to reach Oracle WebCache.

Oracle WebCache may become intermittently unreachable from browser, which can be confirmed by accessing the below URL from a browser:

http://<fully_qualified_hostname>:<webcache_listen_port>

The Big IP console shows Oracle WebCache as down and the following errors are seen in Oracle WebCache event_log:

[error 12417] [ecid: <ECID>] HTTP request-header parsing error - no header name. Client IP: <f5_IP_Address>
[error 12419] [ecid: <ECID>] Dump of offending HTTP request-header line: GET /
