Goal

The following shows how to refresh the JPA cache to see changes that have been made to the database tables outside of the JPA cache , for example changes made through SQL*Plus or some other tool. This example is based on toplink essentials which is oracle's reference implementation of the JPA, so this example will only work with toplink essentials.
