Impossible To Query The Contents Of A Flat File With SQL Instructions From ODI (Sunopsis) ? (Doc ID 423911.1)

Symptoms

After having reverse engineered a Flat File and right-clicked on the ODI (Sunopsis) Datastore in Designer to execute the "Data" menu item, from the SQL button, I wish to:

  1. modify the SQL instruction by adding a where clause.
  2. alter the request to a count(*)...where clause.
  3. sort the Datastore over a certain field.

None of these instructions function correctly. What is going wrong? Is there a work around?
