ODI Variables are Added in the "GROUP BY" Clause of an Integration Interface (Doc ID 423944.1)

Symptoms

Having an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Integration Interface that includes mappings containing:

  • Aggregate functions (such as Min(), Avg(), Sum() ...) and
  • References to ODI Variables.

The Variables are added to the generated SQL GROUP BY clause resulting in errors at run time.

In this case, the mappings containing Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Variables are executed on "Staging area".
