"Cannot display table's data. Data are probably already displayed" Message In ODI Designer (Doc ID 424042.1)

Symptoms

After having checked the "Display the Metadata changes in the Model tree" checkbox for an existing ODI Model and when attempting to reverse new Datastores, they are systematically marked with a red cross.

Moreover, when trying to view (or edit) Datastore data, the following message is displayed: 

Cannot display table's data. Data are probably already displayed
com.borland.dx.dataset.DataSetException: Execution of query failed.

 What is going wrong here ?
