Standard Reverse Engineering in ODI Designer of a DB2 / 400 Table Does Not Function when Using the IBM Toolbox JDBC Driver
(Doc ID 424062.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 12, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Data Integrator - Version 4.1.01.05 to 10.1.3.6.0Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), when using the IBM Toolbox JDBC Driver, the standard reverse engineering of a DB2/400 table does not function. From ODI Designer, when consulting the Model's selective reverse engineering tab, the table does not appear in the list of objects matching the reverse criteria.
Note that:
- The user connecting to the AS/400 (iSeries) Data Server has "public privileges" on the Table.
- When connecting directly to the AS/400, the same user may consult the Table's structure and data.
- When connecting to the DB2/400 Database with Squirrel, the same user cannot display the contents of the table.
- When checking the file properties on which the DB2/400 table is based, it appears that no DDS (Data Description Specification) has be defined (Data Base File Attributes... Externally described file: No).
