How is it Possible to Use Several Journalized Source Datastores Within the Same Integration Interface with ODI? (Doc ID 424144.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 4.1.01.05 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It would be useful to be able to use journalized data on multiple Source Datastores in an ODI Integration Interface.

However, it appears that ODI only allows the setting up of only one Journalized Datastore at a time.

In ODI 10g

If there is already a Datastore's Journalized Data Only check box checked, the check box will be grayed out for the rest of the source Datastores.

In ODI 11g

The box is never grayed out and user may click on it but then will get the following warning/error:

Critical SourceDataStore M Multiple journalized datastoCritical SourceDataStore M Multiple journalized datastores exist in this dataset. Only one journalized datastore is allowed per dataset. res exist in this dataset. Only one journalized datastore is allowed per dataset.

Why is there such limitation and what is the workaround?
