'Deletion Impossible' Message Signaled when Attempting to Drop Objects from ODI Models and Projects (Doc ID 424204.1)

Symptoms

After having deleted certain relational table columns in the original RDBMS, it is necessary to delete them from certain Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Model Datastores. However, these columns may be referenced as either Source or Target Datastore elements in ODI Integration Interfaces (or other ODI components).

Moreover, when attempting to delete a Project from ODI Designer similar cross reference issues occur.
