"Connection refused" Message Displayed When Connecting From ODI (Doc ID 424257.1)

Symptoms

Case 1: Testing the connection to a Data Server

The following message is displayed when testing the connection to an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Data Server or Repository:

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method)
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(Unknown Source)

Case 2: Stopping an Agent

A "Connection refused: connect", or the following alternative message is signaled when stopping an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) standalone Agent (use of "agentstop.bat/.sh" command):
java.net.ConnectException: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation
